The US Department of Justice has said it will take time to enforce the law banning TikTok in the US unless its Chinese owner sells the platform. Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco welcomed the Supreme Court’s decision upholding the law that would ban TikTok.

She added that “the next phase of that effort – enforcing and ensuring compliance with the law after it goes into effect on January 19 – will be a process that will unfold over time.”
