Trump has named the director of his social network as head of the intelligence board.

Nunes, a longtime Trump defender who chaired the House Intelligence Committee during Trump’s first term in the White House, will remain CEO of Truth Social, Trump said in a statement on the network.

As chairman of the committee, Nunes alleged that the FBI colluded against Trump during the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election, which Trump defeated over Hillary Clinton.

“Devin will draw on his experience as former Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee and his key role in exposing the Russian meddling hoax to inform me of independent assessments of the effectiveness and correctness of the actions of the U.S. Intelligence Community,” Trump wrote.

The President’s Intelligence Advisory Board is a White House panel that provides the president with independent analysis of the effectiveness and planning of intelligence agencies.

Yesterday, Trump also nominated IBM CEO and former Department of Homeland Security official Troy Edgar as deputy secretary of the department and businessman Bill White as U.S. ambassador to Belgium.
