There’s still a little over a month left until the iPhone 16 series is unveiled, and a well-known analyst has now confirmed some rumors that have been circulating.
There are only a few weeks left until the launch of the new series of iPhone smartphones, and expectations are high, especially after the rumors that have been circulating about them for months. Now, some of them have been confirmed by the famous analyst Mark Gurman, but he also made a statement that no one wanted to hear – price increases
According to Gurman, all that remains is for Apple to officially confirm that the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max models will be made of titanium, something the giant has been wanting to bring for years, and which we had the opportunity to see on the Watch Ultra smartwatch. This would make the new phones lighter and stronger than the stainless steel used in previous generations.
Gurman reiterated what we could see recently, namely that Apple has decided to significantly reduce the thickness of the screen bezel, from 2.2 mm to 1.5 mm, due to which the screens of the new phones will offer the most immersive experience on the market – a title that currently belongs to the Xiaomi 13 smartphone.
As we could see in the leaked code of the beta version of the iOS 17 operating system, Gurman has no doubt that the mute switch will disappear after 16 years of existence, that is, it will be replaced by a button that users can program themselves. In addition, Apple will not wait for the European Union’s deadline for implementing the USB-C port, and the Lightning connectors will be replaced this year.
Unfortunately, these changes will affect the price of the Pro model, which Gurman says will jump in both the European and US markets by as much as $ 200. Considering that iPhone prices have already skyrocketed in the past year (by as much as 26% in some markets), we’re sure this is the last thing customers wanted to hear.
When it comes to the non-Pro models, those hoping for higher screen refresh rates will be disappointed. The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will continue to refresh at 60 times per second, which is truly incredible considering that lower-midrange Android phones offer twice that speed. What’s new about these models is that Apple will finally remove the notch and bring back the same Dynamic Island notch that we saw last year on the iPhone 14 Pro models.
