New terrifying footage from L.A.: The city has been reduced to ashes (VIDEO)

The idyllic town, once a favorite vacation spot for the rich and famous, now resembles an apocalyptic landscape, the Daily Mail reports.

Hundreds of luxury homes worth millions of dollars are now piles of rubble and ash, with little evidence of the precious family memories and artifacts that once adorned their walls.

The partially preserved walls of the estates give a hint of their former glory. Instead of picturesque buildings with perfectly manicured lawns, these remnants testify to the destructive power of the fire.

The remains are covered in black ash and buried in debris, while trees and greenery, once full of life, are completely burned out. Six fires have been raging in the greater Los Angeles area since last Tuesday, claiming at least 25 lives and destroying more than 12,000 homes and other structures.

Firefighters are still battling the region’s most destructive wildfire in Los Angeles history, as well as the Eaton and Hearst fires. Three other fires have been fully contained.

Red Flag warnings, indicating extreme fire danger, ended in the Los Angeles area late last night, but forecasters warned that dry and windy conditions would persist, while the fire danger remained.

The National Weather Service said the brief respite for wildfire-ravaged Los Angeles would be brief, as renewed Red Flag warnings — when ideal fire conditions, such as strong winds and low humidity, prevail — were likely to return to effect on Sunday.

About 6.5 million people remain at critical risk from wildfires after the fires destroyed an area nearly the size of Washington, authorities said.
