Once upon a time, diabetes was considered an incurable disease, and people who got sick were left to live as long as their illness would allow. Back then, modern medicine was not as advanced as it is today, and people ate anything and everything.
Although today, rigorous measures have been taken to help people maintain a normal lifestyle, as long as the course of the disease allows, diabetes has never been completely cured, and those who get it carry it with them for the rest of their lives.
However, diabetics in the modern world use various medications that maintain blood glucose levels, receive insulin therapy, take care of regular physical activity and pay attention to their diet, and advice regarding this disease is always welcome and should be known by everyone who has this disease.
The first and main thing that a diabetic and his family should know, especially if the diabetic has a large number of kilograms, is that the food he eats should be moderate, not abundant.
It is known that any abundant food, whether it is rich in various fats, carbohydrates, starchy elements in the form of sugar or proteins, burdens the pancreas, the organ that secretes insulin, thus worsening the condition and progressing the disease.
When it comes to a man with diabetes, the food he eats during the day should be 1800 – 2500 calories, and for women this average is slightly less, from 1600 – 2000 calories, with the exception of those who constantly work and expend energy, which means they need to consume a little more calories during the day.
In addition, the food recommended in the diabetic diet must be prepared in a certain amount of carbohydrates, proteins and fats. This average, especially for carbohydrates, varies from 100 – 120 g per day, which means that the intake of sugars should be reduced to a minimum.
The food recommended for diabetics should be varied, more liquid and contain enough vitamins, minerals and plant fibers that will satisfy the patient. Nutritionists, when determining the type of food for diabetics, focus mostly on the intake of carbohydrates, and that intake should be within a prescribed small limit.
For example, each dish that contains starchy elements or sugar, is measured or read on the instructions how many carbohydrates it contains. If up to 200 g of carbohydrates are allowed during the day, plus the 2500 mentioned calories on average for men are added.
If 100 g of bread contains 5 units of OH (carbohydrates), that is 50 g. Let’s say that during the day you eat 500 g of potatoes that have 10 units of OH, that is another 100 g. So each food contains a certain number of ON units, in this case 10 g.
Although this number is only an average, the diet for diabetics is carried out individually according to the course of the disease and other parameters determined by the doctor and nutritionist. Of course, the food is adjusted according to the needs and tastes of the individual.
Filipino doctor Jamie Di-Liaco, a specialist in metabolic disorders, discovered a medicine that saves from diabetes and regulates sugar to a minimum. Interestingly, the medicine is prepared in 5 minutes, and you will need only 3 ingredients for it.
This medicine is intended for diabetics, and the doctor came up with it because his birthplace, the Philippines, according to the International Diabetes Federation, is considered the country with the largest number of patients with this silent disease.
To prepare the medicine, you will need the following ingredients: 6 small peppers of the Siling Labio variety, 1 egg, and 1/4 teaspoon of sea salt (a pinch). Siling Labio is a small variety of chili pepper that is most famous in the Philippines, but can also be found here.
