The Kremlin said today that Russian President Vladimir Putin is open to talks with Donald Trump without preconditions, after the US president-elect said a meeting between the two was being arranged.

“The president has repeatedly stressed his openness to contacts with international leaders, including the US president, including Donald Trump,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

He added that the Kremlin welcomes “Trump’s readiness to resolve issues through dialogue.”
