Record donations for Donald Trump’s inauguration, dollars, vehicles, cryptocurrencies

Donald Trump will take office as president of the United States on January 20, and his inauguration has raised significantly more funds than the inauguration of current President Joe Biden.

Major corporations such as Toyota, Ford, General Motors, Amazon, Meta, OpenAI have each donated $1 million, and Uber has donated $2 million. Ford and General Motors have also promised to provide vehicles for the event.

“Seven-figure checks,” according to the Wall Street Journal, were donated by AT&T, Charter Communications, Stanley Black & Decker, Intuit, Charter Communications, Pratt Industries and The PhRMA Group.

Donations also come from banks such as Bank of America and Golden Saks, as well as cryptocurrency exchange platforms Kraken and Coinbase.

Some companies, which previously distanced themselves from Trump after the Capitol attack on January 6, 2021, are now supporting him. According to the news portal Axios, this may be an attempt at “courtship” aimed at improving relations with the new president.
