People are attracted to yoga for many reasons, one of which is that it is very effective in solving back problems. And it’s not just about pain, one of the most common problems is stiffness in the lower back, which usually occurs as a result of excessive sitting and lack of physical activity.

Try the following fantastic stretching exercises!

  1. Child’s pose
    Kneel on the floor (on a yoga mat or blanket). Lower your butt on your heels and your forehead on the floor. The arms are extended to the body with the palms facing up. Keep your knees slightly apart. Staying in this pose, breathe deeply into your abdomen and lower back to soften and relax your muscles. Hold for 30 to 60 seconds or longer if possible and comfortable.

  1. Cat-Cow Pose.
    Kneel on your knees, palms on the floor, in line with your shoulders.
    Inhale, lift your chin and chest and look at the ceiling as you lower your stomach to the mat. Exhale, arch your back toward the ceiling, pull your stomach toward your spine, and lower your head toward the floor.
    Repeat the entire sequence four to six times, following the rhythm of each inhalation and exhalation.
  2. Downward Facing Dog Pose
    Stand with your knees hip-width apart. Bend forward and place your palms on the floor, with your hands shoulder-width apart.
    Walk your hands a few centimeters forward and spread your fingers. Pressing the floor with your hands, lift your knees off the floor and begin to straighten your legs while stretching your body upwards. The legs should not be completely straight.
