10 mistakes when applying sunscreen
- You use too little
Many people do not apply enough sunscreen. You need almost a full cup (about 30 grams) of sunscreen to optimally cover your entire body. - You skip strategic points
Areas that are often missed are the ears, the back of the neck, the feet and behind the knees.
3. You don’t renew your protection regularly
Sunscreen should be reapplied every two hours or more often if you swim or sweat a lot.
- Don’t use sunscreen on cloudy days
Up to 80 percent of UV rays can penetrate through clouds, so sunscreen is essential even on cloudy days. - You use expired sunscreen
Sunscreen loses its effectiveness over time. Check the expiration date and replace old products. - You forget to protect your lips
Lips can burn in the sun. Use a nourishing SPF-enriched lip balm and reapply regularly. - You don’t apply the cream on time
Sunscreen based on chemical protective factors (vs. natural) should be applied 15-30 minutes before sun exposure to absorb and start working.
